I am a Mom.

I gave a TEDx talk on happiness that stirred unexpected controversy because of one simple line.

“I have what some consider one of the toughest jobs on the planet. I am a mom.”

The talk has reached millions of people around the world for a simple reason. I was answering one of the most searched questions on Google without knowing it.

How do be happy every day?

I was able to answer that questions with clarity, experience, expertise and lived researched both personally and professionally. What stayed with was the conversation that
that followed in the comments. It seems “being a Mother is an easy job and I shouldn’t take it so seriously.”

To me, being a mother has meant something very different. It means I hold the most underrated PhD in the world on Human development.

My research on understanding human development started the day I brought my first son home. Not in a university lab, but in the most complex human system imaginable.

Raising human beings.

And that was just the beginning. I am the adoptive mother of three incredible boys. Becoming their mother changed the direction of my life. It sent me on a relentless search to understand what makes humans thrive.

Over the past two decades I have studied human development, neuroscience, emotional intelligence, and the patterns that shape how we think, connect, and grow. I have done this for my family but also families, teachers, youth and individuals all over the world with my charitable organization 365give. I wanted to deeply understand the title I chose for my talk:

How to be happy every day. It will change the world.

Along the way I discovered something surprisingly simple. We are so much more alike than we are different.

We carry human intelligences that shape how we live, how we work and how we feel. An inner operating system that drives our clarity, creativity, resilience, and connection to ourselves and the world around us.

I call it The Human Code.

And in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence, understanding our own human intelligences has never mattered more.

This is the work I do. Helping people reconnect with their inner intelligence that technology can never replace.

I’m glad you’re here. I look forward to working together.

With Love,

Human intelligence built the world long before artificial intelligence arrived.

Yet today we spend far more time developing technology than developing ourselves.

My work focuses on helping individuals, leaders and teams strengthen the intelligence that technology cannot replace. Our inner technology.

A reminder: it was human intelligence that created artificial intelligence.

Biological. Emotional. Relational. Heart. Intelligence.
